Diptyque, founded in 1961 in the heart of bohemian Paris, was born from the creative vision of three artists—Desmond Knox-Leet, Christiane Montadre-Gautrot, and Yves Coueslant—united by their love of beauty, nature, and curiosity. The trio opened a concept store at 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain, blending modernity with heritage in a space that celebrated the senses. Their store, part studio and part cabinet of curiosities, showcased their creative passion and global inspirations, laying the foundation for a brand rooted in artistry and innovation.
